Seems I’m always hearing somebody say, “I’ll take one of those puppies” regardless of what the item actually is or how much it really isn’t squirming, barking or fighting your attempts to house-break it.
What can I say? In our house we’ve gone through a lot of potty training. Seemed like an inevitable place for a bunch of bad minifigs to wind up. Oh, and yes, the potty was actually clean when I used it for setting up the shot.
Power Miners are one of my favorite new themese from LEGO. These guys came out of set 8962: Crystal King. The inspiration for wanting to see Power Miners in a home setting came from building the furniture you see here. The concept for the chair is not original with me, I’ve seen it in a couple places, most recently from an image in a series that Brickshelf user pepik posted. From the chair design, it was pretty straightforward to expand it into a couch.
No, that’s not Darth Ludicrous — notice this jester has no cape, no lightsabers, and he still has both hands.
This is my first two-panel strip in The Brick Side series. I decided to try breaking things up a little bit here and there to give a greater variety.
The jester’s first line is an allusion to one of my favorite lines from Alice in Wonderland. Alice meets a character called “The Duchess” whose solution for every problem is that it “needs more pepper.” That included a crying baby.
