Well, it doesn’t quite taste the same, but it is a little cheaper. The Brick Side: now with options for the economically minded. The Brick Side is a crunchy little webcomic built with LEGO bricks. Part of a healthy breakfast. Just don’t forget the orange juice, bacon, and eggs.
Contest
By the way — anyone care to take a guess at how many 1×1 bricks are in that bowl? 1 guess per person, entered as a comment on this post. If multiple people are correct I will have the computer randomly pick one; 1 winner will be declared. If you are a minor (don’t say so online) you must have your parents permission to enter. I will email the winner to ask for a mailing address to send the prize to (do not list your mailing address in the comments). Prize will bea random Series 1 minifig sealed and sent to you.
You have til the end of the day, Wednesday July 28 EST to guess. Happy guessing!

My guess is 2145 bricks.

Wow. Most of you were waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off. I appreciated @Siabur’s resgination to it being okay if he was wrong. And @cjdoyle’s joke — very clever, and aptly so.
I have a lot of LEGO bricks. All of my “clean, new” brick I keep bagged, boxed, and inventoried so I can keep track of things I use for my sculptures & portraits for Duckingham Design.
So for the bowl of 1x1s I just emptied out a few bags of yellow. 4 to be exact. 4 bags of 100. So I actually had a very round number … and much lower than most of you guessed. 400.
Congratulations to @DAH — you were the closest! A random Series 1 minifig will be on its way to you very very very soon.
And I think we’ll probably have another contest in the near future.
